    The TE-PM2_5-HVPX is a high volume air sampler configured for PM2.5 particulate collection at 2.5 µm or less for non-regulatory studies and institutional research. This sampler draws ambient air at a flow rate of 40 cfm through a PM2.5 size selective inlet consisting of 40 stainless steel nozzles that allow only 2.5 µm particulates to get deposited on the filter.

    PLUS Controller Technology

    The PLUS controller features a microprocessor-based flow control system with built-in ambient temperature and barometric pressure sensors for accurate, real-time flow monitoring. The hot wire anemometer probe is inserted into the flow stream and automatically adjusts the motor speed as the filter begins to collect particulate. The controller includes a digital timer with battery backup, multiple elapsed time indicators, four data logs, and USB export capability for data retrieval.

    Sampling Performance

    The PM2.5 size-selective inlet uses 40 stainless steel nozzles to trap larger particulates inside the inlet while allowing smaller PM2.5 particulates to continue through and be collected on the 8" x 10" quartz filter paper. PM2.5 particulates are particularly hazardous to human health as they can work their way into lungs during respiration and be absorbed into the bloodstream.

    System Components

    PM2.5 particulate samplers are built with motor, timer, flow controller, elapsed time indicator, outdoor aluminum shelter, and pressure recorder. The anodized aluminum shelter is designed to allow particulate matter to be drawn onto the filter from all directions, with rugged construction that withstands the elements with minimal maintenance.
