The TE-1002 Dual Sampling Module collects particulates on filter paper media and vapor elements on a piece of polyurethane foam located in the lower chamber of the sampling module. This dual-chamber aluminum module enables simultaneous collection of both particulate and vapor samples, making it an essential component for comprehensive ambient air quality monitoring systems.
EPA-Compliant Sampling Design
The PUF high volume air sampler meets the requirements described in US EPA methods TO-4A, TO-9A, and TO-13A, which are used for sampling and analysis of volatile organic compounds in ambient air. The dual chambered aluminum sampling module contains two filtering systems. The upper chamber supports the airborne particulate filter media in a circular filter holder, while the lower chamber accommodates a polyurethane foam cartridge for vapor phase collection.
Technical Configuration
The TE-1002 features filter support screens and module components equipped with gaskets providing a leak-proof seal during the sampling process. The dual chambered sampling module is designed for easy access to both upper and lower media. The threaded lower canister is removed with the cartridge intact for immediate exchange, allowing for efficient sample collection workflows.
Compatible Flow Rates and Applications
This sampling module operates effectively at flow rates between 125 and 250 liters per minute when used with appropriate high-volume air sampling systems. A wide variety of sorbents can be used in a manner that permits their continual use. Polyurethane foam or wet/dry granular solid media can be used individually or in combination.
System Compatibility
The TE-1002 dual sampling module is compatible with Tisch Environmental PUF (Polyurethane Foam) high-volume air samplers designed for collection of airborne particulate and vapor contaminants, including volatile organic compounds and airborne pesticides. It integrates with various flow control systems including manual controllers and PLUS technology flow controllers.
Applications
- Collection of compounds with vapor pressures above approximately 10-8 kPa that are distributed between gas and particulate phases
- Ambient air monitoring for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
- Pesticide and semi-volatile organic compound (SVOC) sampling
- Environmental compliance monitoring per EPA TO-13A
- Research applications requiring simultaneous particulate and vapor phase collection
Note: This module is sold less glass cartridge. Glass cartridges for the lower chamber must be ordered separately based on your specific sampling requirements and target analytes.
