The TE-1002 Dual Sampling Particulate Vapor Sampling Module is a dual chambered aluminum sampling module designed for simultaneous collection of airborne particulates and volatile organic compounds in EPA-compliant ambient air monitoring applications. This critical component serves as the heart of PUF (Polyurethane Foam) samplers used for pesticide monitoring and semi-volatile organic compound analysis.
Dual Chamber Design
The upper chamber supports the airborne particulate filter media in a circular filter holder. The lower chamber encapsulates a glass cartridge which contains the PolyUrethane Foam for vapour entrapment. This configuration enables comprehensive sampling of both particulate-bound and vapor-phase contaminants in a single sampling event, providing complete characterization of ambient air quality.
Technical Operation
The TE-1002 module operates as part of a complete high-volume air sampling system, with air flow rates up to 280 litres per minute. Filter support screens and module components are equipped with gaskets providing a leak proof seal during the sampling process. The dual chambered sampling module is designed for easy access to both upper and lower media. The threaded lower canister is removed with the cartridge intact for immediate exchange.

The TE-1002 module supports multiple EPA compendium methods for toxic organic compound analysis:
- Compendium Method TO-4A for the Determination of Toxic Organics in Ambient Air - pesticides and PCBs
- Compendium Method TO-9A for the Determination of Toxic Organics in Ambient Air - volatile organics
- Compendium Method TO-13A for the Determination of Toxic Organics in Ambient Air - polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)

The TE-1002 module integrates with Tisch Environmental PUF sampler systems including the TE-1000 series samplers. A wide variety of sorbents can be used in a manner that permits their continual use. Poly urethane foam or wet/dry granular solid media can be used individually or in combination. The module features Tischaloy coating for enhanced durability and chemical resistance in outdoor monitoring applications.
