The TE-1012 is a 1-inch long polyurethane foam vapor collection substrate designed for semi-volatile organic compound sampling in high-volume air monitoring applications. This unwashed polyurethane foam substrate fits into glass cartridges within PUF sampler lower chambers for vapor entrapment. Each package contains 10 individual foam substrates.
Technical Application
The PUF high volume air sampler collects airborne particulate and vapor contaminants, typically used to collect volatile organic compounds and airborne pesticides. The lower chamber encapsulates a glass cartridge which contains the PolyUrethane Foam for vapour entrapment, with poly urethane foam used individually or in combination with other sorbents.
Regulatory Compliance
This substrate meets requirements described in US EPA methods TO-4A, TO-9A, and TO-13A for sampling and analysis of volatile organic compounds in ambient air. The PUF-only sorbent tubes meet ASTM D6209 and EPA IP-7, TO-4A and TO-13A, and are packed with precleaned PUF for low background.
Compatible Systems
This 1-inch foam substrate is compatible with Tisch Environmental TE-1000 series PUF samplers and similar high-volume air sampling systems. The sampler operates at flow rates between 125 and 250 liters per minute (lpm). The substrate dimensions are specifically sized for standard glass cartridge assemblies in dual-chamber PUF sampling modules.
Target Compounds
The high volume PUF tubes are designed for ambient air sampling of organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Polyurethane foam (PUF) is used worldwide for active and passive sampling of semivolatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in air, cheap, easy to handle, and efficient for collecting a wide range of compounds with moderate to low vapor pressures.
Installation Notes
Install foam substrates in glass cartridges according to EPA method specifications. The threaded lower canister is removed with the cartridge intact for immediate exchange. Ensure proper sealing of the sampling module to prevent air leakage during operation. Replace substrates according to sampling protocol and target compound breakthrough considerations.
