The TE-10617 is a female bulkhead fitting designed for volumetric flow controlled samplers. This essential connection component enables pressure measurement for VFC systems that use a critical orifice with a predetermined orifice hole diameter to control the flow rate. The fitting serves as the critical interface between the sampler shelter and external pressure monitoring equipment.
Complete Assembly
The TE-10617 includes both the male fitting and clear tubing, providing a complete pressure tap assembly ready for installation. The clear tubing allows visual inspection of the connection and proper sealing during operation.
Installation
The fitting attaches to the side of a standard High Volume Air Sampler shelter. The bulkhead design provides a secure, weatherproof penetration through the shelter wall while maintaining the integrity of the sampler enclosure.
Compatibility
This fitting is designed for use with all high volume air samplers equipped with a volumetric flow controller (VFC), including:
- TSP (Total Suspended Particulate) samplers
- PM10 samplers
- PM2.5 samplers
- Both brush-style and brushless motor systems
The fitting works with VFC systems where the stagnation pressure is measured from the air pressure inside the sampler in the area just under the filter, and VFC samplers have a stagnation pressure tap or port through which the stagnation pressure can be measured.
VFC System Function
In volumetric flow controlled systems, the volumetric flow is controlled without any moving parts or electronic components, and no means is provided for adjusting the controlled flow rate. The TE-10617 fitting enables connection to manometers or pressure recording devices essential for proper VFC system calibration and operation.
For the male counterpart, see TE-10618 Male VFC Fitting.
