    The TE-5005-BL is a 110 volt brushless motor assembly specifically designed for Mass Flow Controlled (MFC) systems in Tisch Environmental's high volume air samplers. This advanced brushless design eliminates the need for carbon brush maintenance while delivering reliable, consistent airflow for EPA-compliant ambient air quality monitoring applications.

    Technical Operation

    The Mass Flow Controller uses a hot wire anemometer to maintain a steady flow rate throughout the sampling period, working in conjunction with this brushless motor assembly. The TE-5005BL Brushless Blower Motor special 5 pin male cord set plugs into the special 5 pin female cord set on the TE-300-310BL Brushless Mass Flow Controller. The hot wire anemometer probe is inserted into the flow stream and automatically adjusts the motor speed as the filter begins to collect particulate.

    Unlike brush-style motors that require periodic carbon brush replacement, this brushless design uses electronic commutation for extended service life and reduced maintenance requirements. The motor maintains precise speed control across varying filter loading conditions to ensure accurate sampling results.

    System Compatibility

    This brushless motor assembly is designed specifically for MFC systems and requires:

    • TE-300-310BL Brushless Mass Flow Controller (5-pin connection)
    • Compatible elapsed time indicator (TE-5012 or TE-302 digital timer)
    • Standard 8" x 10" filter holders (TE-5004, TE-6003)
    • 110V AC power supply

    Important: The TE-5005-BL uses a special 5-pin electrical connection and is NOT compatible with standard brush-style motor controllers. For 220V applications, order TE-5005X-BL instead.

    Sampling Applications

    Motor options include your choice of a brush style motor or a brushless style motor for various particulate monitoring applications including TSP, PM10, and PM2.5 sampling. The brushless design is particularly suitable for:
