The TE-5025 Calibration Kit provides complete flow calibration capabilities for TSP, PM10, and PM2.5 high-volume air samplers operating at 20-60 CFM (1.13-3.40 m³/min). This fixed orifice calibrator uses resistance plates to vary airflow and establishes NIST-traceable calibration for EPA-compliant ambient air monitoring programs.
Calibration Method
The TE-5025 uses a fixed orifice calibrator with resistance plates to vary air flow, providing accurate flow measurement verification required by 40 CFR Part 50, Appendix B for TSP monitoring and 40 CFR Part 50, Appendix J for PM10 monitoring. Calibration of the sampler's flow measurement device is required to establish traceability of subsequent flow measurements to a primary standard using a flow rate transfer standard.

Sampler Compatibility
Compatible with TSP, PM10, and PM2.5 high-volume air samplers. Not for use with Volumetric Flow Controlled (VFC) systems — use TE-5025HVP for PLUS Technology samplers instead. The TE-5025 is specifically designed for conventional mass flow controlled (MFC) high-volume samplers that require resistance-based flow verification.
Calibration Procedure
Mount the calibration orifice and top loading adapter plate to the sampler, then connect the water manometer to the pressure tap on the orifice side. Insert the appropriate resistance plate and gasket under the orifice, tighten securely, and record manometer readings to establish the sampler's flow calibration curve.
Annual Recertification Required
Annual recertification is recommended for accuracy and reliability. Tisch Environmental provides recertification services to maintain NIST traceability and ensure continued EPA compliance for ambient air monitoring programs.
