The TE-5030 is a 30-inch slack tube water manometer designed specifically for pressure measurement in high volume air sampling applications. This U-tube design provides primary standard accuracy because the difference in height between the two columns is always a true indication of pressure regardless of variations in the internal diameter of the tubing. The green dye enhances visibility for precise readings across the full 0-30 inch water column range.
Operating Principle
In its simplest form, the manometer is a U-tube about half filled with liquid. When positive pressure is applied to one leg, the liquid is forced down in that leg and up in the other. The difference in height indicates the pressure. A manometer is used to measure the pressure difference between two gases, often atmosphere and the gas being tested. The difference in the height of the liquid in each side is used to calculate the source pressure.
