Acceleration Nozzle Plate for PM2.5 Inlet - Plate Only

The TE-6001-2.5-6 acceleration nozzle plate is a precision-engineered component that provides the necessary changes in velocity to effect correct particle size fractionation within the impaction chamber of PM2.5 size selective inlets. This plate works in conjunction with stainless steel nozzles that allow only 2.5µm particulates to get deposited on the filter, serving as the foundation for accurate PM2.5 separation in high volume air sampling systems.

    Critical Velocity Control Function

As particles are accelerated through the nozzles to an impaction chamber, particles having diameters larger than the inlet's 2.5-µm cut design impact the surface of the impaction chamber. The nozzle plate's precisely calculated dimensions ensure consistent particle acceleration velocities, maintaining the sharp 2.5 µm cutpoint required for EPA-compliant monitoring. The PM2.5 high volume air sampler collects particulates at a flow rate of 40 cfm through a PM2.5 size selective inlet, with larger particulates trapped inside the inlet as smaller PM2.5 particulates continue through and are collected on the filter.

    Compatibility

This nozzle plate is specifically designed for use with the TE-6001-2.5-I PM2.5 Size Selective Inlet assembly. The plate works together with the TE-6001-2.5-7 acceleration nozzles and requires the TE-6001-2.5-5 screen and nozzle plate adapter for proper installation. Compatible with all Tisch Environmental high volume PM2.5 air samplers operating at 40 cfm (68 m³/h).

    Installation and Maintenance

The nozzle plate requires careful handling during installation to maintain the precise positioning necessary for accurate particle separation. Regular inspection is recommended to check for damage or debris accumulation that could affect the plate's aerodynamic properties. When reassembling the inlet, ensure proper gasket placement using the TE-6001-2.5-2 gasket for PM2.5 inlet top plate to maintain the sealed impaction chamber required for consistent performance.

Note: This part number includes the plate only. Acceleration nozzles are sold separately as TE-6001-2.5-7. Order both components for complete nozzle plate assembly replacement.
