    The TE-6009 silicone release spray is a specialized maintenance product designed for PM10 impaction shim plates in high volume air sampling systems. This formulation prevents particle bounce and ensures proper collection efficiency on the greased impaction surface where particles greater than 10 microns aerodynamic diameter impact during size-selective sampling.

    Operating Principle

    In PM10 sampling systems, ambient air is drawn into the inlet and evacuated through nine acceleration nozzles. Larger particles impact onto the greased shim plate due to their momentum, while particles smaller than 10 microns are carried upward to the filter. The TE-6009 release spray maintains the proper coating on this critical impaction surface.

    Maintenance Requirements

    The impaction surface must be cleaned and greased regularly, at least every 20 samples. Without proper maintenance, particle bounce and loading effects can compromise sampling accuracy, requiring cleaning and re-coating after 5 sampling days or more often if overloading is observed. The TE-6009 spray simplifies this maintenance process by providing consistent coverage.

    Compatibility

    This silicone release spray is compatible with EPA-compliant PM10 impaction inlets used in high volume air sampling systems. It works with Tisch Environmental PM10 samplers and other manufacturers' systems that utilize greased impaction shim plates for size-selective particle fractionation.

    Shipping Restrictions

    Important: This product cannot be shipped via air freight due to its aerosol formulation. For locations requiring air freight delivery, substitute with TE-1854C Dow Corning Release Compound as an alternative greasing solution.
