    47mm EPM2000 Hi-Purity Glass Fiber Filters, 100/pk

The TE-EPM-47 delivers 100% borosilicate glass construction without organic binders for high-purity ambient air monitoring applications. These 47mm diameter filters provide the chemical inertness and thermal stability required for precise gravimetric analysis of collected particulates in laboratory and field sampling systems.

    Technical Performance

Manufactured from borosilicate microfibers with fixed pore structure in the micrometer range, EPM2000 grade filters offer high flow rates, excellent chemical resistance, and high thermal stability. The binder-free construction eliminates potential interference from organic compounds during sample analysis. Maximum operating temperature reaches 550°C, enabling high-temperature conditioning and ashing procedures.

    • Borosilicate glass microfiber construction
    • Binder-free for analytical purity
    • Operating temperature up to 550°C
    • Hydrophilic surface for aqueous samples

    Compatibility

These 47mm filters fit standard laboratory filter holders and low-volume sampling equipment requiring 47mm diameter media. Compatible with most analytical procedures for particulate matter characterization, including gravimetric analysis, microscopy preparation, and chemical extraction. EPM2000 grade filters meet requirements for Total Suspended Solids (TSS) testing defined as particles retained by glass-fiber filter disk without organic binder.

    Sample Handling

Pre-condition filters by heating to 550°C for 1 hour to remove moisture and volatile compounds before weighing. Store conditioned filters in a desiccator until use. The inert glass matrix provides an ideal medium for trapping sediment for further analysis and counting. Handle with clean forceps to prevent contamination during sampling and analysis procedures.

    Applications

Designed for laboratory filtration of aqueous samples, ambient air particulate collection, and sample preparation for analytical methods. Ideal for gravimetric determination of airborne particulates and environmental monitoring applications requiring high-purity filter media. Commonly used in pre-filtration prior to membrane filtration and as collection media for subsequent chemical or microscopic analysis of captured particles.
