The TE-1000DBL is a high volume air sampler designed to collect airborne particulate and vapor contaminants, typically used for volatile organic compounds and airborne pesticides. This system incorporates a dual sampling module to collect volatile organic compounds, airborne pesticides, and PFAS in ambient air.
These systems are designed to meet the requirements described for sampling using US EPA method TO-4A, TO-9A, and TO-13A. The sampler operates with flow rates up to 280 liters per minute for comprehensive collection of both particulate matter and semi-volatile organic compounds using polyurethane foam media.
Technical Operation
This sampler operates between 125-250 lpm and uses a manual motor speed controller to control the flow rate. The flow is pulled through a critical orifice with a brushless vacuum blower motor assembly which is used to control and calculate the ambient flow rate. The brushless motor configuration eliminates the need for routine carbon brush replacement, providing longer service intervals compared to standard brush-style motors.
A dual chambered aluminum sampling module contains both filtering systems. The upper chamber supports the airborne particulate filter media in a circular filter holder. The lower chamber encapsulates a glass cartridge which contains the PolyUrethane Foam for vapor entrapment.
Key Specifications
- Power: 110V, 60Hz configuration
- Flow rate: 125-250 lpm operating range
- Motor: Brushless design for extended maintenance intervals
- Timer: Digital programmable timer for precise sampling periods
- Shelter: Anodized aluminum shelter housing all components
EPA Compliance
The procedure is based on the adsorption of chemicals from ambient air on polyurethane foam (PUF) using a high volume sampler. Compliant with EPA Method TO-4A for determination of pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls, EPA Method TO-13A for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and EPA Method TO-9A for dioxin sampling.
System Components
Standard components include motor, timer, flow controller, elapsed time indicator, outdoor aluminum shelter, and pressure gauge. The system houses the digital timer, magnehelic gauge, vacuum motor, elapsed time indicator, flow venturi, and dual sampling module in a weather-resistant enclosure.
Applications
Especially designed for sampling airborne particulates and vapor contamination from pesticide compounds. Successfully demonstrated to efficiently collect a number of organochlorine and organophosphate pesticides. Ideal for ambient air monitoring programs, source assessment studies, and regulatory compliance monitoring where both particulate and vapor-phase contaminant collection is required.
Housed in a robust aluminum shelter, the PUF sampler is built to withstand harsh conditions and provide accurate and reliable results.
