Complete High Volume PUF System for VOC and Pesticide Monitoring
The TE-1000D is a complete high volume air sampler designed to simultaneously collect suspended airborne particulates as well as trap airborne pesticide vapors at flow rates up to 280 liters per minute. The system incorporates a dual sampling module to collect volatile organic compounds, airborne pesticides, and PFAS in ambient air.
These systems are designed to meet the requirements described for sampling using US EPA method TO-4A, TO-9A, and TO-13A. The procedure is based on the adsorption of chemicals from ambient air on polyurethane foam (PUF) using a high volume sampler.
Key Features
- Digital Timer: Recommended by the US EPA, the digital timer allows for 1 in 3, 1 in 6, 1 in 7, and custom sampling schedules
- Brush-Style Motor: Brush Style motors use carbon motor brushes to conduct current within the electric motor. They are low cost but require routine motor brush changes
- Power Configuration: An electrical source of 110 volts, 15 amps is required
- Anodized Aluminum Shelter: Proven sampler components housed in an anodized aluminum shelter for outdoor service
Specifications
- Flow Rate: By-pass blower motor design permits continuous sampling for extended periods at rates to 280 liters per minute
- Operating Range: This sampler operates between 125-250 lpm
- Power: 110V, 60Hz
- Motor Type: Brush-style with manual speed control
- Timer: Digital programmable
Compatibility and Replacement Parts
Compatible replacement components include:
- Motor Brushes: TE-33384 (110V brush set)
- Replacement Motor: TE-116336 (110V brush motor)
- PUF Media: TE-1010 (3" foam plugs), TE-1011 (2" foam plugs), TE-1012 (1" foam plugs)
- Filters: TE-QMA4 (4" round quartz filters)
Applications
Successfully demonstrated to efficiently collect a number of organochlorine and organophosphate pesticides. These samplers are typically used to collect volatile organic compounds and airborne pesticides.
- Ambient air monitoring for pesticides and semi-volatile organic compounds
- Compliance with EPA Method TO-4A
- Environmental monitoring and source assessment
- Research applications requiring high-volume VOC collection
Installation and Setup
The PUF Sampler may be operated at ground level or on roof tops. In urban or congested areas, it is recommended that the sampler be placed on the roof of a single story building. The sampler should be located in an unobstructed area, at least two meters from any obstacle to air flow. The exhaust hose should be stretched out in a down wind direction if possible.
