The TE-1000BLX is a high volume air sampler designed for EPA-compliant collection of volatile organic compounds and airborne pesticides using polyurethane foam (PUF) sampling media. This sampler meets the requirements described in US EPA methods TO-4A, TO-9A, and TO-13A, which are used for sampling and analysis of volatile organic compounds in ambient air.
Dual Chamber Sampling System
The system incorporates a dual sampling module to collect volatile organic compounds, airborne pesticides, and PFAS in ambient air. The sampling head is a dual chambered aluminum container which houses both filtering systems. The upper chamber supports the airborne particulate filter media in a circular filter holder. The lower chamber encompasses a glass cartridge which contains the Polyurethane Foam for vapor entrapment.
Key Specifications
- Power: 220V, 50Hz configuration for international applications
- Motor: Brushless design reduces maintenance requirements
- Timer: Mechanical timer for reliable start/stop control
- Flow Control: Manual motor speed adjustment
- Construction: Anodized aluminum shelter for weather resistance
Brushless Motor Advantages
The brushless motor design eliminates the routine maintenance associated with carbon brush replacement required in brush-style motors. This configuration provides extended service life and reduced field maintenance intervals, making it ideal for continuous ambient air monitoring applications.
Compatible Configurations
This sampler is part of the TE-1000 series family, which includes multiple power and motor configurations:
- TE-1000: Mechanical timer, brush motor, 110V 60Hz
- TE-1000BL: Mechanical timer, brushless motor, 110V 60Hz
- TE-1000X: Mechanical timer, brush motor, 220V 50Hz
- TE-1000BLX: Mechanical timer, brushless motor, 220V 50Hz (this model)
- TE-1000BLXZ: Mechanical timer, brushless motor, 220V 60Hz
Applications
Designed for ambient air monitoring programs requiring EPA-compliant sampling of semi-volatile organic compounds including organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and other toxic organics. Suitable for environmental monitoring, air quality assessment, and regulatory compliance sampling.
The mechanical timer provides dependable operation without the complexity of digital systems, while the manual flow control allows operators to adjust sampling rates based on specific monitoring requirements and environmental conditions.
