The TE-5025-1 Load Plate Set is a complete replacement set of calibration resistance plates designed specifically for the TE-5025 Calibration Kit. This essential calibration component enables accurate flow rate verification for TSP, PM10, and PM2.5 high volume air samplers operating at 20-60 cfm.
The set includes five precision-drilled plates numbered 5, 7, 10, 13, and 18, each creating specific flow resistances that correspond to different flow rates within the sampler's operating range. Each plate features a different number of circular orifices that restrict airflow during calibration procedures. A replacement gasket is included to ensure proper sealing between the load plate and the calibration orifice assembly.
Technical Operation
During calibration, each resistance plate is connected to the sampler inlet and the pressure drop across the orifice plate provides a precise measure of instrument air flow rate. Five flow rates are achieved by changing between the different plates (18, 13, 10, 7, and 5 hole configurations), allowing technicians to verify sampler accuracy across the full operational flow range.
Compatibility
This load plate set is specifically designed for use with:
- TE-5025 Calibration Kit with TE-5025A orifice assembly
- All Tisch Environmental TSP high volume air samplers
- All Tisch Environmental PM10 high volume air samplers
- All Tisch Environmental PM2.5 high volume air samplers
- Mass flow controlled (MFC) and volumetric flow controlled (VFC) sampler configurations
High volume calibrators are required for accurate flow rate calibration on all high volume TSP, PM10, PUF, and PM2.5 samplers. The TE-5025-1 load plate set ensures continued calibration capability when original plates become damaged, lost, or worn.
Maintenance Notes
Load plates should be inspected regularly for damage, warping, or blockage of orifice holes. Avoid running the sampler for longer than 30 seconds at a time with the orifice blocked to reduce the chance of motor overheating. Clean plates with appropriate solvents if particulate buildup occurs around orifice openings.
Replace the included gasket if compression set or damage is observed to maintain proper sealing during calibration procedures. Annual re-calibration of the complete calibration kit is recommended for accuracy and reliability.
