Syringe filters span a wide range of membrane chemistries and pore sizes, so the format can be matched to the sample matrix and solvent system in use. The cellulose acetate membrane clarifies particulates at the rated pore size and binds less protein than mixed cellulose ester of similar size. Thermal-bonded PP construction leaves no seam for sample to bypass the membrane while routing flow to minimize backpressure in service and sheds virtually no extractable material into the sample. Where analytical results depend on clean samples, the preparation step stays consistent from sample to sample through a pre-tested syringe filter.
