Featuring a thin, microporous polycarbonate track-etched (PCTE) film with precisely defined cylindrical pores, these 0.2um membrane sheets deliver exact surface capture across an 8 x 10 inch format, supplied 30 per pack and nonsterile. Although polycarbonate is naturally hydrophobic, the film is treated with a polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) wetting agent to render it hydrophilic, making it well suited to blood assays as well as high-purity and general filtration. The smooth, translucent surface retains all particles larger than the pore size on a single plane, simplifying downstream particle identification.

Key Polycarbonate Track Etch (PCTE) Membrane Characteristics

    • Hydrophilic surface: Treated with PVP wetting agent so aqueous samples wet out and pass through readily.
    • Precise cylindrical pores: A two-step track-etch process produces a narrow pore-size distribution for exact size separation, capturing 100 percent of particles larger than the pore size.
    • Surface capture: Particles collect on the smooth, flat surface in a single plane, ideal for optical and electron microscopy.
    • Superior strength: Tensile strength of 207 bar (greater than 3000 psi) maintains pore size and density without stretching.
    • Low protein binding and low extractables: Negligible adsorption and absorption maximize critical solution recovery and promote clean, consistent results.

    Key Construction Characteristics

    • Material: Polycarbonate Track Etch (PCTE) film, hydrophilic.
    • Format: 8 x 10 inch membrane sheet, 0.2um pore size.
    • Pack: 30 sheets per pack, nonsterile.
    • Maximum use temperature: 140 degrees C (284 degrees F).

The translucent, glass-like surface and tightly controlled pore geometry deliver dependable, reproducible separations while preserving sample integrity. Negligible filtrate adsorption maximizes recovery of valuable solutions, and the durable film withstands handling and differential pressure during demanding laboratory workflows.

    • Microscopy and Particle Analysis The smooth, flat surface captures particles in a single plane for clear viewing under optical and electron microscopes.
    • Blood and Cell Studies Hydrophilic PCTE film is well suited to blood assays and the separation of cells larger than the 0.2um pore size.
    • High-Purity Filtration Low extractables and negligible adsorption support clean, high-purity general filtration with maximized solution recovery.
    • Microbial Enumeration Precise, uniform pores and surface capture aid bacteria removal and counting from aqueous samples.
    • Tissue Culture and Fractionation The biologically inert, durable film supports tissue culture, fractionation, and general separations.
    • Sample Preparation Narrow pore-size distribution provides reproducible clarification and preparation of aqueous samples for downstream analysis.
