Because each syringe filter is dedicated to one sample, a failed or contaminated filtration stays isolated to its own analyst's run and leaves the next analyst's queue clear. PTFE stays chemically inert against aggressive solvents, strong acids, and alkalis in service while repelling water and passing gases and solvents freely and suits solvent filtration where other membranes fail.
