A syringe filter with a hydrophobic vent-rated membrane keeps gas and vent lines free of microbial ingress. PVDF resists HPLC mobile phases, alcohols, and mild hydrocarbons while passing gases freely and holding back water and provides sterilizing-grade retention at sub-micron pore sizes. The PP housing sustains efficient flow on viscous samples while standing firm against aqueous acids, bases, and alcohols during regular handling and presses snugly against the membrane during the pass. Downstream equipment and work areas stay protected from airborne bacterial contamination once the vent path runs through the membrane.
