A syringe filter with a hydrophobic vent-rated membrane keeps gas and vent lines free of microbial ingress. Hydrophobic PVDF passes gases freely while holding back water while resisting HPLC mobile phases, alcohols, and mild hydrocarbons and blocks bacterial passage through its smallest rated openings. Low-extractable polypropylene keeps sample purity intact through the filtration pass and arrives factory-sterilized and individually sealed for sterile use. No separate sterilization cycle is needed when the gas path already runs through a validated sterile-grade membrane.
