Gas and vent service calls for a hydrophobic syringe filter rated to the same sterilizing-grade pore size as its liquid counterpart. The hydrophobic PVDF membrane blocks aqueous ingress in venting applications while resisting HPLC mobile phases, alcohols, and mild hydrocarbons and achieves sterile-grade retention at sub-micron pore sizes. Polypropylene construction maintains a low-dead-volume internal flow path while staying inert across common laboratory solvents and sheds virtually no extractable material into the sample. A vent or gas line stays free of airborne bacteria once a hydrophobic, sterilizing-grade membrane is in the path.
