A syringe filter with a hydrophobic vent-rated membrane keeps gas and vent lines free of microbial ingress. PVDF achieves sterile-grade retention at sub-micron pore sizes while blocking aqueous ingress in venting applications and resists HPLC mobile phases, alcohols, and mild hydrocarbons. Polyolefin construction sheds virtually no extractable material into the sample and arrives factory-sterilized and individually sealed for sterile use. Downstream equipment and work areas stay protected from airborne bacterial contamination once the vent path runs through the membrane.
