Featuring a ready-to-use Tryptone Glucose Extract (TGE) nutrient formulation, this liquid medium is supplied as an amber broth in pre-portioned 2mL polypropylene ampoules for membrane-filtration testing. Also known as membrane Tryptone Glucose Extract Broth, Plate Count Broth, or Standard Methods Broth, it is a nonselective medium used for the detection and enumeration of total aerobic bacteria. Each 2mL ampoule contains enough media to saturate a standard absorbent pad in a Petri dish, and the product is manufactured in accordance with the American Public Health Association (APHA) formulation. The medium is sold sterilized and is packed 50 ampoules per foil bag.
