A single-use hydrophobic vent filter reaches sterilizing-grade retention on a vent line without the autoclave cycle or in-line housing a reusable gas filtration setup would require. Hydrophobic PVDF passes gases freely while holding back water while providing sterilizing-grade retention at sub-micron pore sizes and tolerates common chromatography solvents without degradation. The polypropylene housing routes flow to minimize backpressure in service while standing firm against aqueous acids, bases, and alcohols during regular handling and delivers a chemically clean filtrate to the downstream step. No separate sterilization cycle is needed when the gas path already runs through a validated sterile-grade membrane.
