Qiagen EasiCollect Plus, 50/Pk - WB120472
FTA-treated cellulose denatures proteins and inactivates pathogens on contact while DNA and RNA stay bound to the card. The treated cellulose ruptures cells and inactivates pathogens at the point of collection and holds nucleic acid for in-place washing and direct amplification. When a genotyping run needs nucleic acid ready on demand, the punched FTA disc carries bound DNA straight into amplification.
Key Characteristics
- Validated room-temperature DNA stability for over 20 years
- Nucleic acid washes in place and amplifies directly from the punch
- Treated cellulose lyses cells and denatures proteins on contact
- Inactivates pathogens for safer sample handling and transport
- Compatible with QIAcard FTA Wash Buffer and TE-1 cleanup
Collecting a biological sample that survives handling and ships without a cold chain keeps your study on schedule. Room-temperature sample collection fits the way your specimens are gathered and shipped from the moment of collection through transport to the bench. - STR Profiling - Forensic samples yield reproducible short tandem repeat profiles from Qiagen FTA punches across casework laboratories.
- Direct PCR Amplification - Bound DNA on the FTA matrix amplifies directly from a washed punch, removing a separate extraction step.
- Pathogen-Inactivated Collection - On-card chemistry inactivates pathogens at the moment of spotting, supporting safer field sample transport.
- Genotyping Workflows - Plant, animal, and human samples feed reliable SNP genotyping assays from punches taken straight off the FTA card.
- Room-Temperature Archiving - Lysed cells release DNA that stays stable on the card for 20-plus years at ambient laboratory storage.
- DNA Methylation Studies - Card-bound genomic DNA supports bisulfite and epigenetic methylation analysis from a single washed sample punch.
